Tremors of Change?
The ruling dispensation tried many coercive measures to dismantle the farmers' agitation. In spite of it, the farmers continued their peaceful resistance with great patience and determination for over a year.
The movement thereafter received global solidarity.
Finally, the government withdrew the laws, half-heartedly accepting the demands of the agitating farmers.
A battle is won, it seems.
But the bigger war of achieving socioeconomic and environmental sustainability has to be won.
